I still vividly remember acquiring 21st Century Foss from the newly-opened Forbidden Planet store back in the late 70’s. I was stunned by the artwork inside and among my favourites were the concept pieces for Dune. I never thought I’d have the chance of owning a Foss print so this is a dream come true for me. The print is of a very high quality revealing a depth of colour and detail only partially shown in a book-sized version. I ordered this A3-print in August as a birthday present for me from my brother. Because Mr Foss was on holiday, I had to wait until mid September, but Chris also added a little sketch beneath the print. It arrived without any delay in perfect condition. I took it to a nearby gallery to frame it in a plain frame with passepartout. It looks so beautiful and now has a special place right next to my film collection. I’m very pleased with the result, money well spent and it was worth the wait. Special thanks to Imogene, who handled the whole transaction. And of course for Chris adding the sketch :)

The Pirate Ship caught my eye a few years back when I watched the documentary, Jodorowsky’s Dune. I wasn’t all that familiar with Mr. Foss’ work at the time. I had only heard his name in passing from watching extras from Alien’s bluray release. But I was quite taken with this particular image and his memories of working on the movie.
I only recently decided to order it and splurge on the other print as well. I’m so glad I did. The colors here are so vibrant. Simply brilliant. I’m sure they will inspire my thoughts and spark my creativity for years to come.
And I must thank Mr. Foss’ daughter, Imogene, who helped answer all my questions. It was an absolute pleasure to communicate with her during the whole process. I even received the “Foundation” print with a little remarque from Mr. Foss. It was a nice touch.
